Blue Moon: Sponge Daubing Technique

Hi Stamper!
This week's creation was actually created by Crystal Cronin (my future sister-in-law) and myself. Crystal is new crafting but she totally rocked this card. While scrolling through Pinterest it was clear, Crystal loved the sponge daubing technique, so with a handful of ink pads and sponge daubers, we got to it. The sponge daubing technique is a slow process so make sure to take your time, but have fun with it too.

Tip: Using an Aqua Painter and White Craft Ink, water-down the white ink and splatter the ink across the finished project to create a faux snow/star look.

Andrea

Talented Trio Gift Card Holders

Hi Stamper!
Today we are going to be showing you how to create these three beautiful gift card holders perfect for any little girl whether it’s your daughter, niece, cousin, granddaughter, or just a kid at heart. All the products used are orderable through Stampin’ Up. At the end of the post, there will be a full list of all the products used.

These instructions we have posted are completely FREE so enjoy!

First thing you are going to do, is cut three pattern pieces of paper to 6" x 6” squares. We used the 2015-2017 In Colour Designer Series Paper Stack (one gift card holder will be in Watermelon Wonder, another in Mint Macaron and the last in Delightful Dijon). Then using the Big Shot cut out the gift card holders using the Gift Card Envelope & Trims Thinlits Die. See Picture Below.

Next cut three, 1” x 6 ¼” pieces of Whisper White Cardstock, these will create the bellybands. On each piece, score at 2 13/15” (one tick above 2 ¾”) and at 5 9/15” (one tick above 5 ½”). There should be a ¾” strip left on the right. Using Fast Fuse, glue together to create a bellyband. Put these on the gift card holders and set aside.

Next, punch out three, 2” circles in Whisper White Cardstock. Don’t own the 2” circle punch? Use the Circle Collection Framelits instead. Using the Stampin’ Pierce Mat, stamp the ballerina, figure skater and artist from the Talented Trio Stamp Set with Archival Basic Black Ink on each one of the circles. The Stampin Pierce Mat helps photopolymer stamps, stamp better then with a hard surface.

After, colour the desired pieces of each stamped image using the 2015-2017 In Colour Stampin’ Write Markers. On the ballerina, we coloured both the shirt and her ponytail. On the artist we coloured her shirt and her paint brushes and on the figure skater we coloured her mittens and scarf.

After your coloured areas have dried add glue to the shirt on the ballerina, the shirt on the artist and the scarf of the figure skater using the 2-Way Glue Pen. Dip the images lightly into a tray of Dazzling Diamonds Glitter. To get off excess glitter, flick the back of the image over the tray of glitter. Still have glitter where you don’t want it? Use a paint brush to push away excess glitter. Put these aside to dry.

Now, punch out three circles with the 2 ½” Circle Punch. You’ll need one in Watermelon Wonder, one in Mint Macaron and one in Delightful Dijon. Attached the now dried stamped images to these circles (the ballerina on Watermelon Wonder, the figure skater of Mint Macaron and the artist of the Delightful Dijon).

Attach dimensionals to the bellyband of each gift card holder and attach punched circles. To add something extra add a small bow to each using Whisper White Seam Binding. Hint: leave the ribbon on the spool, it’s easier to tie small bows this way. Use glue dots to attach the bow to the cardstock.

There you have it, three beautiful gift card holders ready for any birthday.

We hope you enjoyed this FREE tutorial and remember to keep creating memories,
